SWIFTY

Graphic designer, typographer and maker of stuff, Swifty should need no introduction. Acid Jazz, Talkin’ Loud, Straight no Chaser, Mo Wax… if you are familiar with any of these then you know Swifty’s work. His influence as a designer is unquestionable (not least on my old company Scrawl Collective), bringing sampling and remix culture to graphics, taking in diverse influences like classic Blue Note era Jazz record sleeves, childhood toys, old signage and packaging. My relationship with Swifty goes back to the first Scrawl book, in which he was instrumental in helping me to tap into the rich seam of graffiti artists, illustrators and designers that he’d worked with through Straight no Chaser and the Studio Babylon project.

Swifty and I co host a stall every year at the famous Art Car Boot Fair.
