Elephant Technique

Elephant Technique was our first exhibition as part of the London Design Festival. It was also our biggest and most successful yet. It took place at the impressive Village Underground venue. Huge murals were painted by Danny Sangra, Dist, Mr Jago, Will Barras, Steff Plaetz and PhlAsh. These were hoisted into the rafters of this imposing space, then fixed so they hung over the heads of the spectators. These formed the main focus of the show and were accompanied by new work from Dist, Nick Purser, new member the excellently named Panda Yoghurt, Danny Sangra, David Walker, Steff, Sam Green, Cat, French, Joel Clifford and PhlAsh. Also on display was the entire 1st series of our ever sought after Scrawl screen print editions. The far wall of the building was given over to an installation, built by our intern Frankie, made entirely from the Danny Sangra designed packaging we produced in collaboration with Start Creative for the Virgin Mobile Lobster Phone (a phone you can watch real telly on!! Whooo!!). The opening night went with a real bang, it was attended by some 2000 people who helped us party away until the booze ran out. In the subsequent days we made some live painting films which will be edited into 5 timelapse shorts, (watch this space for more about that soon). A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped make this show such a massive success. Frankie for all her help, Fi for the help with the filming and editing, Steve for getting them bloody murals up there, Acyde, Yuri and Conrad for DJing, Ella for her help on the night, Leila at Spin, Tom and Jack at Village Underground and of course all our sponsors, Virgin Mobile, Start, Vladivar, Jaguar Shoes and 3Beat records and as you are about to enjoy their sterling efforts thanks to Fats and Andy from VU for the brilliant photographs.
